‘Little Sprouts’ was birthed in our hearts a decade before opening the doors of our first Centre in 2012. Our vision was to create a warm, welcoming, and aesthetically beautiful place for our families to share. A Centre that stirred excitement in children and aroused their sense of curiosity, to investigate and make discoveries about their world. A place for new beginnings. For relationships and friendships to be nurtured to grow and flourish. But above all, for children to know they are loved and respected and for our families to know that the desire of our gifted, passionate Educators is to lay a solid foundation and nurture and encourage children to grow to their full potential and become all they were created to be.
Our first Centre on Parklakes Drive was so well received by the local Bli Bli and surrounding communities that a few years later we built a second larger Centre on Camp Flat Road. We are honoured and privileged to be ‘a home away from home’ for over 250 families each week and to employ 70 incredible Educators. Being a family-owned and operated service we strive to maintain all round excellence and take a holistic approach in meeting the needs of every child at ‘Little Sprouts’.
Knowing where and with whom you belong. It recognises children's connections with others and the role of those relationships in defining their identity.
The here and now. Childhood is a time when we make meaning of our world. Through play we seek answers, create new experiences, and have fun.
Children learn and grow through their experiences. These experiences shape children's identities and the adult they become.
The Early Years Learning Framework provides principles to guide us in our work with children and focuses on assisting each child to make progress towards the Learning Outcomes, the five principles are as follows:
Secure, respectful, and reciprocal relationships
Partnerships
High expectations and equity
Respect for diversity
Ongoing learning and reflective practice
Our fully accredited government approved Kindergarten program is led by dedicated qualified Early Learning Teachers and runs for 42 weeks of the year. Seen as an extension of learning that has already taken place in the home, community, and throughout previous years in the Early Learning environment. The kindergarten program supports a play-based approach to learning that incorporates your child’s interests and strengths into rich learning experiences to fully prepare them for the socio-emotional and academic challenges of their next 13 years of schooling.
Throughout the course of the day children will engage in a program of exciting, real world experiences which incorporate social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills and include problem solving, initiative, resilience, and personal care along with literacy, numeracy, art, cooking, music, drama, and science at their own developmental pace. It is our endeavour to encourage a sense of curiosity, wonder and a love of learning!
The National Quality Framework is a government initiative which sets a National Quality Standard as a high benchmark for the quality and consistency of Early Childhood Education and Care in Australia. This initiative aims to improve Educator-to-child ratios in services, increased skills and qualifications, national regulations and a quality ratings system which will help you to make informed choices about the education and care you choose for your child.
The seven quality areas are:
Educational programmes and practice
Children's health and safety
The physical environment
Staffing arrangements
Relationships with children
Collaborative partnerships with families and communities
Leadership and service management
‘Little Sprouts’ aims to exceed the National Quality Standard across all areas of our service. Our two Centres have a Quality Improvement Plan in place to show what is happening to achieve this by focussing on areas such as educational programmes and practice, children’s health and safety, physical environment, staffing arrangements, relationships with children and collaborative partnerships with families and communities.
A play-based emergent curriculum allows children to take control of their own learning and become independent and confident individuals as they prepare their own path for education. Educators will support and guide children’s development following the five learning outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework which are as follows:
‘Little Sprouts’ is committed to ‘giving back’ throughout the year to a variety of not-for-profit charities and organisations that operate locally, nationally and across the globe by raising awareness and supporting the incredible work they do through donations. Collectively, we can help change the world and make it a better place for everyone!
